Give Help/Get Help - Magnus/Weapon/Npc Concepts

Hey everyone! I got my character design done and saw that it won't fit with a duel blade so I was hoping if anyone

could make duel knifes instead? I provided the base of what I want the knife to look like but the knife would have a knuckle feature with the rings and the blade on the side for the knife is curved outward from the hand and the knife blade to be reversed and the coloring of the wrap of the handle, and for the backside of the blade to be emerald green and for the blade to be silver blue. Think you can do that?

I thought the idea was cute... so I doodled it. That's about it. (DoctorBear's ideas btw)

• Looking for help on: Design-A-Magnus

• More details: My main concept for the magnus is a Plant Monster. The main points of interest will be the lack of facial features. flowering plans on its back, or in its core, and lots of vines. As the magnus evolves Thorns and size and number of vines will increase. The complexity of the flowers will also mature. I would maybe like a more circular body instead of the blob shape i used. I also kinda of want to remove the eyes. Maybe if there will be features they can be expressed more in plant anatomy. IE: tangela but less eyes and feet, more wild and thorny.

I would really appreciate some help with these concept designs, I have no artististic merit so any help is appreciated, from sketches to B/W or colored art to get a more concrete vision of my ideas, and ofcourse suggestions and brainstorming is always welcome! Please dont hesitate to contact me if you want to help! Ive left some basic info down here just to give an idea of what Ive been fooling around with.

Weapon set design (still not decided on ideas yet so suggestions are always welcomed)

- Iron great shield with bear pelt (bear head on the top grasping the "jewel" in its jaws)

- Giant salmon great sword

- Open to more suggestions and concepts

Villager design (the only thing that I have decided on so far is that its going to be a bear)

Concept A:

- Bipedal bear

- Between grizzly bear or Sunbear species for the type of bear

- Very stocky and thick in body type (think maybe maui from Moana)

- Lazy, carefree demeanor

- Possibly wearing a shoddy strawhat and one of those flower tourist shirts unbuttoned Possible Concept B:

- Bipedal bear

- Teddie Bear full of discolored patches

- Button eyes, possibly with one always drooping a little with a loose thread

- Looks cheerful and cute but is incredibly menacing

Okay, I thinned out and lengthened the pommel spike and changed the guard into a full circle. I kept the design simple so you could have it easily added to or alter the appearance with color.

Ah got it. A circle guard. No problem, I can edit it to have that.

No worries, I know how it is. It's actually really early here for me, but I get random bouts of insomnia XP I might try for sleep again once I finish the edit.

The guard similar to the sun raider set dual sword in update 16. Sorry for the late response I fell asleep since it's so late here. It's still night so I have to snooze but thank you for helping in the weapon design.

Hm, which one? They've shown 12 different dual blades through updates, 2 of which were in the trailer. All of them have different hilts. If I had to guess, I think you may mean the rainbow swords the main character in the trailer was using in the first half of the trailer? So a guard that doesn't connect to the grip then?

Yeah, whatever you like. I have no doubt that the Magnus team will do their best to create the weapon the way you like. As for getting a sketch done, I can probably do one up real quick for you. It'll just be a simple black and white, so you may wanna either do notes about color or see if someone else will also sketch it for you.

Then if that's right I'll just go around the idea of duel blades with the blades curved like sabers but curving downward like eagle claws with a cone shaped guard and with small spear shaped ends on the end of the handle wrapped with a string charm similar in design to the shaolin wushu swords. Is that alright?

Go it ill just edit out all the functions just give the description of the appearance.

XD Okay. If you don't mind, I'll create a name for it then. You're more than welcome to change it. It's just easier for my creative process to write out a description and then draw it later.

Interestingly I've had it used in my book about twenty times and still can't find the right name. So far I've been referring to it as "Work you blood worthless thing" because the user is... Magically inept

We don't have all the information about exactly what the limitations are on weapon designs, but as far as I understand, the weapons we create will all be visual skins, meaning likely none of the weapons will have any kind of alternate stats. It'll be cosmetic only. I also doubt we'll be able to have custom animations since that'll take a lot of extra work to create over 100 unique animations for each of these skins. So I think the best way for now to go about designing a weapon is to keep it simple and add complexity to it later when we know exactly what the rules are. So for now, focus on just what you want your weapon to look like.

Okay, I'll add the concept to my list of weapon designs. If FlamingGoLegend is bothered by it, I'll delete it. Otherwise it'll be something I'll sketch up later. Did you already have a name in mind for the shield or should I come up with one?

If it's okay with FlamingGoLegend I'd love to see all the interpretations of this wind shield you guys can draw. It's one of the designs I've had in writing for a while But could never properly put on paper.

I hope this isn't too rude of me, but I had a go trying to doodle up a design.

Umm.. couldn't really make it clear but its meant to be like translucent and then the wind effects are constantly swirling to create that oval shape. The only thing that's actually solid is the two gemstones. And then make it becomes less transparent at the moment the attack hits? And maybe some sort of special attack could have it explode into a wind blast, and then you're left with just the hovering gems til it reforms.

I'm working on a bunch more weapon concepts just cuz I have some spare time and feel like doing it. It'll take me a few days to finish drawing everything, but I'll be making a new post with them when it's done. They'll be free for anyone to use or take inspiration from.

Feel free to hit me up if you still need help Garukor. I'd be happy to help work on any designs while I sketch up more weapons.

Wow, I actually really like that idea too Eri_Grey. If it wouldn't be stepping on FlamingGoLegend's toes at all, I'd really like to try sketching a version of that too. Only if you're both okay with it that is.

EDIT: You still only emphasize the Magnus design. Not that many out there compared to weapon designs. That is the reason I would not write "Magnus" in the title.

Oh, I named it that cos originally it just started as me looking for one person to help draw a friend's design, and i wasnt sure how i could explain all that in the thread title character limit.

Just a little advice: You should maybe rename this Thread. It sounds like you are searching for help to design a Magnus.

While it is more a swap meet for all kinds of design.
