Recruit Backer NPCs to your village?

Oh and like.. if changing wallpapers in the resort would be too much extra work for the developers, you could easily have the same effect with no visual change. Just say like.. I dunno... 'we're changing the elevator music' or 'we're changing the menu' or like.. more deluxe rooms vs more affordable rooms.

Ooh, that could actually be a cooler way to do it than just an entirely separated island where you cant really do much and nobody affects vokka village really. Have it like a hotel or resort where random 'tourist' npcs can visit and they're all the backer characters! The amount of them might be less overwhelming if they appeared a few at a time daily, and it could be a good incentive to keep playing every day. And they'd be more easy to reach as well, and maybe you could upgrade the resort building so you attract larger amounts of tourists, or change the wallpaper and etc to raise odds of encountering certain ones. (Probably just something basic like 'spooky theme' or 'cute theme', i wouldnt expect full customization like in your house)

Or I dunno, maybe have both this AND the backer island, and thats just where theyre visiting from? So maybe you cant do much with them on the island and you have to wait til they visit your village to do the simple romance routes and stuff, but the village could be like a cute easter egg to see the daily life of all these minor characters. You could unlock it ages after you see them cameo-ing in the resort, so it'd be like 'whoa, thats where they came from!' And you'd get a preview of the full amount of npcs that could appear in the resort, and you could chat with them to figure out which resort decoration might attract which character.

And I dunno if every backer npc is gonna be just an npc, or if you're allowed to make them stuff like blacksmiths or item shop people? But probably making it The Decadent Town Of Tourist People could explain why there's no shops and stuff in it, if theyre all frivalous rich people. Maybe just show some shops but they're all shops that you don't need, like 'this whole street is starbucks' XD oh, and maybe if there's gonna be a fancy bonus hairstyles shop like people suggested in the customization discussion thread, it could be here?

It sounded like they were just going to live on the island. But it would be cool if there was a hotel or something that could be unlocked and every couple of days random backer npcs would come to visit.

Going on adventures with us would be hard I think ( a lot more coding!) But I think having us unlock a house to have one move in would be cool!

^Yes, that's a great idea! I'd love to have my NPC as a neighbor too! Also, it might be asking for too much, but I thought it would be nice if they could go on adventures with you too, kind of like in Rune Factory. :)

good question. I dont want to marry my npc but it would be nice to see him in my village. Maybe we could unlock one or two houses in our village where some backer npcs we choose live. They wont do a lot, but atleast they are our neighbours :P
