We keep asking. So far, the only official answer I've seen has sadly been dismissive.
Why does this require so much careful consideration in a modern game featuring romances? Can we please get a confirmation as to whether it's going to be allowed?
Thank you.
Edit: It would seem there was a mention that I've missed, see below.
Being a homosexual, I find this important.
Guess I missed that - hopefully they'll be able to get the approval. Regardless, I hope they make it an easy change with modding!
There was a huge discussion in the comments of the kickstarter about this...
Someone in the comments stated that due to the country they're located in they will not be able to include it. Including it would result in major fines and possible jail time. So they probably won't be able to add it. But, they do encourage the moding community to add it in.
From the FAQ:
Unfortunately we can't have a concrete answer on that before the end of the campaign. As much as we would love to have it, there's lots of factors contributing to the outcome as we're(The team) not the only one making the decision. On the bright side, we will be supporting mods so same-sex marriage will definitely exist in the game no matter what. Actually mods implementation might work even faster and better than our official implementation. :)
Last but not least, we had to go through lots of layers of approval before we can get it into the game so we're doing our best as well. We hope you understand that we're not against it but the process of getting it approved will take awhile.
Allow it. Just let people be what they want to be.
But, for sure, I would have each character to have their own sexual orientation, like in real life. It would be strange that every bachelor is bisexual.
